connected stories | real life issues

Just like your favorite movies and books, your life is a story full of adventure, comedy, tragedy, drama, and romance. Everyone has a story. God created you with a special story because your story is purposely connected with God's story. No matter what your story is, God desires that your story and His story be in harmony. God can use the details of your life story to help bring you into friendship with Him.

God "gives all men life and breath and everything else ... He determined the times set for them and the exact places where they should live ... so we could seek after God, and not just grope around in the dark but actually find Him. He doesn't play hide-and-seek with us. He's not remote; He's near ... and He gives us the power to live, to move, and to be who we are."
Acts 17:25-28, NIV, The Message, CEV

At Mosaic Family Church, we found God for a variety of reasons and under very different circumstances:

  • "I chose Jesus because of what I saw Him do for my family."
  • "My father's death propelled me on a search for life's purpose and what happens after we die. I discovered that Jesus has the answer to life's biggest questions."
  • "It was a hard decision because to me logically following Jesus didn't make sense. But I love nature, so God revealed Himself to me through nature."
  • "I realized that with Jesus there is hope and meaning."
  • "I sought after God because of my desire to know something bigger than myself was in charge. After reading about various religions, I was convinced God was real and felt that Jesus was God's Son."

Using everything and everyone, God may be asking you to be His friend right now. Your story will only find meaning when it is connected to God's story.

"By believing in Jesus, anyone can have a whole and lasting life. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life."
John 3:16, The Message & John 10:10, NLT

God's story changes your story. That's what we have discovered to be true:

  • "God has taken some of my biggest mistakes and turned them into the most important things in my life."
  • "God has allowed me to follow the desires of my heart by focusing my eyes on the things that matter."
  • "God has made me a much stronger person. I could not have handled things on my own."
  • "God has brought me a deeper satisfaction with who I am, why I am here, and the hope of glory to come."
  • "I have learned not to worry about what to do because God is in control, He cares for me, and shows me His plan for my life."
  • "Through God, I have beaten all the odds. I grew up with drug dealers and users. My parents were uneducated and unable to speak English. Yet, I'm now a PhD student."

Are you ready to become God's friend and watch Him change your life story? Your new story with God develops when you believe in Jesus, choose to follow Jesus, and are baptized. Then you become involved in God's story of helping others restore their friendship with God.

"He gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation. So we are Christ’s ambassadors; God is making his appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, 'Come back to God!”
2 Corinthians 5:19-20, NLT
